Our client is a thriving leader in food production and they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join their team and uphold their commitment to safety and customer service. What you will be doing…
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Repair and maintain physical structure of equipment.
• Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Preventative maintenance on equipment.
What You Offer:
• Prefer experience with Crown/Raymond equipment (but are open to experience with other brands as well), forklift electrical systems, mechanic and hydraulic systems.
• The ideal candidate will have two to three years of experience in forklift repair.
• Proven ability to use basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to work occasional to frequent overtime.
• Ability to read and take direction in English.
• Must be capable of becoming certified to operate equipment.
Physical Requirements:
• Capability to stand in one place for 30% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
• Capability to walk throughout department for 70% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
• Requires the frequent use of both hands and arms
• Requires the ability to lift overhead using both arms
• Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds without reasonable assistance.
• Must be able to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend and reach
• Must be able to work in a Safety Sensitive Position
