Banking Services Project Manager
- Contract Length: 6 months
- Location: Strathcona County; remote candidates considered
- 35 hours/week
Raise is currently hiring a Banking Services Project Manager team member on behalf of our client, a specialized municipality located in the Heart of Alberta. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Description
In meeting the evolving financial needs by selecting a new financial institution to provide primary banking services. This transition presents a remarkable opportunity to enhance financial operations. It aims to improve service delivery, enhance integration with County systems, and leverage cost efficiencies. By modernizing transaction processing and strengthening fraud management capabilities, the County aligns its banking services with industry best practices and innovative technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Scope Management
- A project charter has been created, understand and monitor and adjust the charter as required
- Develop a project plan aligned with the banking contract’s objectives
- Define scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements
- Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate between internal teams and external vendors
- Maintain strong communication with senior management and clients
- Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, data security standards, and contractual obligations
- Execution & Delivery
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement new banking services (e.g., digital platforms, customer onboarding systems)
- Monitor progress, resolve issues, and adjust plans as needed
- Facilitate regular project status meetings
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and budget
- Implement effective project management methodologies and best practice
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Ensuring service quality and adherence to contract terms
- Track vendor deliverables and escalate issues when necessary
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, risks, and milestones
- Document all phases of the project for transparency and audit purposes
- Change Management
- Support staff training and adoption of new systems or processes
- Manage communication strategies to ensure smooth transition for customers and employees
Required
- A certified Project Manager and have 7+ years of project manager experience
- Previous experience working with ERP systems like Oracle, knowledge of banking setups and processes, able to work with a wide range of users from technical staff to front line staff.
- Adept at stepping into an in-flight project that requires urgency in establishing key relationships, identifying risks and issues of significance that need to be dealt with, and determining priorities that need to be addressed
- People focused. Experienced in leading a diverse set of participants through difficult challenges with empathy and confidence
- Experienced with hybrid and remote working
- Comfortable working independently as well as within a team structure – looking for someone who can drive results on their own when provided requisite support
- Comfortable and confident with coordinating and engaging impacted parties within aggressive timeframes
- Organized and able to effectively manage time and priorities
- Experienced in working with business resources and senior management
- Experience with banking services and banking operations
- Organizational skills (Proficient at managing time and multiple concurrent priorities, effective planning skills)
- Customer Service skills (Active listening, Problem solving. Demonstrating the ability to find a solution to the problem that satisfies the client/customer)
- Communication Skill (Excellent verbal and written communication skills.)
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships
