Hybrid Interaction/Visual Designer
- Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid (work primarily in-office, with the option to work from home one day a week)
- Contract Length: 12 Months.

Responsibilities:
- Be the consistent day-to-day product designer dedicated to a squad that includes a content designer, researcher, and senior design leader who are shared across multiple squads.
- The designer will be relied on for communicating and managing the day-to-day design needs of their dedicated squad (with support and leadership from their Design Lead), and will be a key partner to their Product and Technology teammates.
- Depending on the complexity of the project, the designer will responsible for leading or supporting the interaction and visual design deliverables of the squad, from early-stage concepting all the way to delivering final ready-for-dev design files
- Participate in Design Research, and in data-led design approaches
- Be accountable for following accessible design requirements and visual brand guidelines, and for ensuring that designs leverage our design system
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure visual design consistency across our users’ journey
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners: product managers, project managers, business analysts, developers, and quality assurance teams.
- Participation in Agile ceremonies
Must-have skills:
- At least 5 years of product design experience, or 7 years in a combination of Interaction Design and Visual Design roles
- Usability research experience—Interest in and working knowledge of UX research methods, with the ability and willingness to support UX research activities in addition to design work.
- Experience designing within the loyalty, retail, and shopping/marketing/e-commerce products (responsive web and native mobile apps), with a strong preference for marketing-driven environments.
- Demonstrated expertise with design, prototyping, and collaboration tools such as Figma, Mural, and design systems
- Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, and the rationale and logic behind design decisions
- Experience working in Lean UX and with Agile dev teams
- Experience leveraging user behaviour data (i.e., Google Analytics, data dashboards) to inform their design decisions
- Great communication and facilitation skills
Nice to have skills:
- Experience working with product managers, BA’s, project managers, developers and QE (as part of a larger organization)
- Experience creating user journeys, wireframes, information architecture and visual brand design
- Some experience with facilitating or supporting user research, with an understanding of various research methods and how/when they are applied
