Laboratory Technician

  • Pay Rate: $21.42/hour on W2
  • Contract Length: 3 months with possible extension/conversion
  • Location: Avon, OH 44011 (Onsite)
  • Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

  • The Laboratory Technician plays a critical role in evaluating and ensuring compliance with the facility’s waste analysis plan.
  • This position is responsible for performing onsite laboratory testing, determining acceptable waste streams, and collaborating closely with operations to ensure proper processing.
  • The role is held to high standards of quality and safety as part of the facility operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate all laboratory equipment each morning.
  • Analyze and document all incoming samples (hard copy and computer system)
  • Perform bench studies (treatability) on each incoming load, including new samples.
  • Analyze materials received and compare results to established profiles.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, including GC, ICP, BTU, and Flash testing equipment.
  • Evaluate new samples to determine treatability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.
  • Assist with laboratory projects that improve cost, quality, efficiency, or processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid state driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hand tools, hand trucks, and forklifts.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience working with both non-hazardous and hazardous waste.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work consistently in various weather conditions.

Safety Requirements

  • Safety shoes required
  • Long-sleeve shirts and long-sleeve pants required.
