Systems Testing/QA Specialist – Junior

Contract Length: 6 Months, Onsite

Responsibilities:
- Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests)
- The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components.
- The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems
General Skills:
- Experience in planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience level
- Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications K
Skills
Experience and Skill Set Requirements
Technical Skills – 50%
- Solid Relational Database and SQL knowledge, including testing and validating data, ETL, DML, DDL, and basic DBA knowledge
- 3-5 Years experience with manual and automated testing tools and techniques
- Third-party tools such as ReadyAPI, SoapUI and Postman
- Design/coding techniques such as schema validation, parameter passing, and Groovy scripting
General Testing skills: 30%
- Familiar with design/coding techniques such as schema validation, parameter passing, and Groovy scripting
- Hands-on testing experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle, structured SQL-based query languages
- Hands-on experience using HP ALM, JIRA and other test/defect management tools.
Communication & relationship mgmt. skills: 20%
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to document test plans/cases for technical systems clearly and perform knowledge transfer effectively to fulltime technical staff.
- Good understanding of systems environments, business analysis and change management.
- Proven ability to prioritize and parallelize assigned tasks to achieve milestones within tight deadlines.
Must haves:
- 3-5 yrs testing experience and strong knowledge in Relational Databases, SQL, Oracle, experience with Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) procedures
