  • Pay Rate: $85-$93.77/hour on W2
  • Contract Length: 22 months
  • Location: Spring, TX 77389 (Onsite)
  • Travel: Potential travel to Singapore and/or Guyana for work activities in 2026. Significant offshore durations or offshore rotations in Guyana in 2027.

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

  • Subsea Commissioning and Start-Up Advisor as part of integrated Systems Completion and Start-up Team on the Whiptail Project.
  • Primarily responsible for supporting development and execution of the (Company owned) Subsea Commissioning Procedures and Start-Up Work Packs aligned with the (Contractor) Topside FPSO commissioning sequence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input and support in the development of Performance Testing procedures and support during the Performance Testing execution.
  • Work with the Operations & Project planning team to ensure that commissioning and start-up schedules are aligned.
  • Interface with other specialists, e.g. ETC, vendors, laboratory, to resolve start-up issues associated within their specific area.
  • Participate in systems walk downs and punch list generation.
  • Coordinate/support start-up execution activities and lead trouble shooting activities during start-up and early operation.
  • Monitor facility performance during start-up and early operation.
  • Monitor testing activities and associated procedures occurring post start-up and during early operations period for each specific area.
  • Support Start-Up Leads, Project Team, and Contractor to ensure all start-up documents are prepared and approved.
  • Act on Affiliate Operations’ behalf in walk downs, punch list generation, and other reviews of project scope during design, fabrication, and construction; work to resolve operability issues identified.
  • Review and finalize start-up documents prepared by the Contractors.
    • Develop, and keep up to date with project changes, the start-up procedures by system and facility as defined by in the project Start-Up Plan.
  • Provide input to the Start-Up Leads for schedule, progress measurement and general reporting
  • Interact with Project Team and Affiliate Operations/Operations Readiness to resolve start-up issues.
  • Work with Commissioning Leads for seamless transfer of "care, custody, and control" of facilities (i.e. Handover) to Operations.
  • Assist Affiliate Operations in conducting PSSRs prior to start-up.
  • Support Affiliate Operations during Performance Test execution.
  • Steward Commissioning Specialists participation in “one team’ efforts supporting a safe and effective execution of start-up activities.
  • Provide support to Vendor Representatives to facilitate the safe and efficient start-up of the facility
  • Assist the Start-Up Lead in preparation and execution of start-up activities.
  • Participate in the effort to capture start-up lessons learned
  • Work with start-up coordinator & Start-up Manager to ensure that OE/IIF expectations are met.
  • Support the Start-Up Manager in the development and execution of the project Start-Up Plan.
  • Provide unit specific expertise during planning and to the production coordinators during start-up.
  • Act as the focal point for interfacing with the Operations, Integrated Commissioning, and Facility Engineering Teams to ensure a safe and effective planning and execution of start-up activities
  • Development and execution of downstream start-up procedures to ensure a safe and efficient start-up of the project Integrated assets.

The role is characterized by

  • Strong technical skills within the specified discipline (e.g., Rotating Machinery, Electrical, Process, Instrumentation).
  • Collaboration with the Project Team, Affiliate Operations, and Contractor to ensure requirements for start-up activities and continuous operations are clearly understood and adhered to.
  • Detailed knowledge of operating facilities and applicable processes to put in place to manage risk
  • Leadership to ensure project priorities of safety, quality, and schedule are achieved.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a closely related position.
  • Discipline appropriate certification(s) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficient in Work Management Systems.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps
  • Team Player
  • Exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom the person may have no direct authority and willingness to assist others.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Knowledgeable of Project Completions activities and typical commissioning practices including typical Systems Completion Database software (e.g., WinPCS, MC+, CoConsole, Orbit)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
