Raise is currently hiring a Structural Technologist on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.

Description

The Senior Structural Technologist in this role is responsible for the development of complex 3D models and 2D construction drawings for concrete, steel, and architectural projects across ’s operations. As a senior member of the technical team, you will ensure that all designs are safe, regulatory-compliant, and optimized for the unique challenges of the mining and nuclear processing industry.

Responsibilities            

  • Provide structural design and CAD work in support of the development of 3D models and 2D drawings, including all construction details for concrete, steel and architectural projects executed within
  • 3D Modeling as required
  • Ensure design work is done in accordance with the organizations processes, procedures, standards, design criteria and regulatory requirements
  • Preparing bill of materials (BOM) and materials takeoff (MTO)
  • Adherence to company and site-specific Health and Safety protocols
  • Ensuring the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Be responsible for planning, drafting, modelling, checking and the quality of the structural deliverables
  • Working within a technical team and maintaining a positive relationship with teammates, operation (clients) and contractors

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of structural design experience, specifically within heavy industrial sectors (Mining, Oil & Gas, or Nuclear).
  • Experience providing design expertise in a mining projects environment
  • Proven track record of managing structural deliverables for large-scale concrete and steel projects.
  • Experience and/or familiarity of software (Advanced Steel, Revit, Plant 3D, Navisworks, Jetstream, AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge and/or familiarity of applicable codes (NBCC, NFCC, etc.) and standards
  • Familiar with construction materials and activities
  • Education and Skills
    • Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution.
    • Eligibility for registration with SASTT (Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians) or equivalent provincial body is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, reliable, strong work ethic, natural enthusiasm

Additional Information

  • Occasional travel to site by aircraft
  • As this is a safety Sensitive Role Pre-access substance testing will be required
