Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Job Overview: 

Our client is seeking an IT Project Manager to oversee complex technical projects aimed at enhancing and integrating industrial control systems or measurement technology systems. This role involves developing technical solutions with key stakeholders, ensuring best practice change management procedures are adhered to during system modifications or deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-time project activities for control systems-related projects, focusing on scope, cost, schedule, and risk to deliver maximum value while minimizing costs.
  • Execute projects according to established standards, utilizing both standard PMBOK Waterfall and Agile methods where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of control systems processes, best practices, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Balance priorities and objectives across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Provide well-defined project mandates with documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and ongoing analysis.
  • Develop and implement change management processes to ensure seamless system deployment without disruption.
  • Develop business cases for new projects and operational initiatives.
  • Apply senior-level project and organizational knowledge to facilitate effective project execution.
  • Continuously evaluate internal processes for efficiency and propose improvements.
  • Prepare status reports and deliver presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate resolution of project concerns or issues, escalating as appropriate.
  • Review and approve project deliverables, ensuring compliance with project processes and standards.
  • Internal: Work with Control Systems and SCADA Subject Matter Experts, peer project coordinators, and managers, pipeline control experts, as well as other stakeholders.
  • External: Engage with third-party vendors and consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Eligible to register as a P. Eng. in the Province of Alberta is an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience.
  • Demonstrated technical competence in at least one engineering discipline, with the ability to handle others (e.g., Measurement, Industrial Controls, Leak Detection, SCADA).
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organization, planning, and leadership skills.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and service-oriented work style.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
  • Commitment to continuous technical learning and personal development.
  • Ability to travel and manage projects across Canada and the United States.
