SharePoint Migration Analyst
- Pay Rate: $43.25/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 1 year

Raise is currently hiring a SharePoint Migration Analyst on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The SharePoint Migration Analyst with strong Business Analysis (BA) and Quality Assurance (QA) skills in this role will support the quality assurance and business analysis activities for a SharePoint migration project. You will lead test planning and validation activities while partnering with business stakeholders to define requirements and ensure a smooth migration from on-prem/DFS environments to Microsoft 365.
Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance
- Lead end-to-end QA strategy and execution.
- Develop and maintain test plans, strategies, and test cases specific to SharePoint online migrations and metadata, permissions, and information architecture validation.
- Coordinate and execute migration validation, user acceptance training (UAT), regression and integration testing.
- Identify, log and track defects through resolution tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate closely with migration SME’s, developers, and platform teams to resolve quality issues.
- Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defect triage and sign-off coordination
- Provide clear QA status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to project team.
- Business Analysis
- Support migration related activities including facilitating requirements gathering sessions for business needs.
- Document and maintain business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and high-level process flows.
- Act as a liaison between business users, product owners and development team to clarify requirements and manage expectations.
- Identify gaps, risks and dependencies early and collaborate with project team for practical solutions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of combined BA & QA experience.
- Experience with 1+ large SharePoint migrations (100+ sites).
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online, M365, site architecture, permissions, metadata, and modern design.
- Hands on experience using Azure DevOps, migration tools (e.g., ShareGate), and validation frameworks.
- Understanding of Records Management, retention labels, and Microsoft Purview.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and end-user change and adoption.
- Exposure to automation testing or scripting for validation tasks considered an asset.
- Experience validating compliance and governance features (e.g., sensitivity labels) considered an asset.
- ISTQB or similar QA certifications considered an asset.
- Experience in enterprise digital workplace or collaboration environments, considered an asset.
- Education and Skills
- Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
- Certifications (Assets & Recommended) ISTQB, CBAP, Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert or MS-700, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMP
