Laboratory Technician (Intermediate)
- Pay Rate: $30.00-$34.21/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 12 months

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- The Laboratory Technician will support daily laboratory and field sample operations, including sample inventory management, chemical movement, shipping/receiving, sample preparation, and testing.
- This role requires strong attention to detail, a safety‑minded approach, and the ability to manage both routine and specialized testing procedures.
- The ideal candidate brings experience in inventory systems such as SAP, excels in an organized and fast‑paced environment, and is committed to maintaining safe, clean, and efficient work processes.
Responsibilities
- Core Duties
- Receive, inspect, inventory, prep, and distribute field samples.
- Retrieve samples from storage for testing or shipment.
- Testing & Sample Preparation
- Conduct H2S testing on small‑volume samples in a vent hood (SAR not required—supplied air respirator used).
- Conduct H2S testing on large‑volume samples (SAR required).
- Purge samples to remove H2S.
- Perform NORM testing using a Geiger counter.
- Prepare samples via centrifuge, aliquoting, weighing, and dimensional recording.
- Conduct API Gravity and Total Sulfur analysis.
- Logistics, Shipping & Inventory
- Prepare shipments according to safety and compliance requirements.
- Manage chemical movement, shipping, and receiving.
- Maintain accurate sample, cylinder, and inventory records, including SAP updates when applicable.
- Re‑stock supplies as needed.
- Workplace & Equipment Maintenance
- Perform waste management tasks (label waste and transport to Bldg 13).
- Operate forklift / serve as spotter as needed.
- Perform housekeeping: sweep, remove trash, break down crates, organize pallets, and keep work areas clean and orderly.
- Conduct equipment and inspection maintenance (forklifts, Taylor Dunn electric cart, etc.).
- Special Projects
- Transport samples from Bldg 15B to temporary storage (conex/covered area).
- Update cylinder inventory with shelving locations for improved retrieval efficiency.
- Housekeeping support for Building 15C.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Excel and inventory systems such as SAP.
- Strong attention to detail and safety‑minded work approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oil and gas industry background.
- Forklift certification.
