Accountant, Financial Reporting
- Location: Mississauga, ON – Hybrid – (2-3 days on site)
- Pay Rate: $40.51/hr – $47.82/hr
- Contract Length: 6 Months with a possibility of extension

Responsibilities:
- Journal entry preparation (primary responsibility at the initial stage of the contract)
- Support month-end close cycle
- Support Audit (Internal and External) and other Finance Stakeholders.
- Support on-going enhancements for Month End Close process / IFRS 17 Go Live.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly journal entries, financial statements, and reporting package requirements on a timely and accurate basis.
- Assist with external auditor requests and documentation as pertaining to interim and year-end audits.
- Active involvement with research and implementation of new/changes in reporting requirements. This can include revising or creating new journal entries, investigating issues, and other reporting changes.
- Drive process improvements through streamlining and enhance quality of work through documentation updates
Must-have skills:
- Completion or pursuing a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA: CA, CGA, CMA) or equivalent experience (3 years)
- 3 years of financial services industry experience in progressive finance roles (preferred)
- Exceptional Excel skills*** (very important)
- 3 years of Experience across financial analytic modeling systems
- Excellent working knowledge of all Windows-based software
- A seasoned professional with relevant work experience—able to work independently and with strong attention to detail—will be favored over a junior candidate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have skills:
- Understanding of Insurance products and insurance accounting (IFRS 17).
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Tableau and Aptitude or AI tools
Soft Skills:
- Client-centric focus with strong initiative and self-motivated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage deliverables on tight deadlines and balance conflicting priorities.
