Raise is currently hiring a Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

As a Project Manager for General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC), you will lead high-stakes projects involving safety-critical equipment like turbo compressors and auxiliary systems. You aren't just managing tasks; you are ensuring the integrity of the energy infrastructure across Canada.

Responsibilities            

  • Asset Oversight: Manage end-to-end GPMC projects focusing on turbocompressor units, auxiliary systems, and balance of plant equipment.
  • Project Controls: Execute rigorous time and cost management. This includes budget forecasting, schedule maintenance, risk mitigation, and managing the project cost change control process.
  • Performance Reporting: Deliver bi-weekly and monthly updates on key performance metrics (KPIs) to leadership, highlighting variances in cost, scope, or schedule.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Direct external consultants and contractors while collaborating with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure technical alignment.
  • Field Optimization: Align field resources to support on-site implementation, ensuring work is done safely and efficiently.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify data integrity gaps and cost-saving opportunities through program analysis and value engineering.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of project management experience within the midstream, oil and gas, or power generation sectors.
  • Ability to manage multimillion-dollar budgets, perform variance analysis, and forecast accruals.
  • Experience with  Stage-Gate methodology, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Change Management.
  • Proven experience navigating Canadian regulatory frameworks (e.g., CER, CSA Z662).
  • Demonstrated experience managing on-site contractors and coordinating field-level resources in a plant environment.
  • Understanding of turbomachinery, compression systems, and process safety-critical equipment.
  • Experience with SAP, Primavera P6 or MS Project, and advanced Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong negotiation tactics for contractor management and the ability to influence internal stakeholders.
  • Education and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  • PMP Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is highly preferred and often required for senior-level grading.
  • EIT or P.Eng (Professional Engineer) status is considered a significant asset for this role.

Additional Information

Periodic travel to field sites and compressor stations will be required to oversee project execution and safety compliance.
