  • Candidates in this role will be working remotely, preference for Alberta-based candidates but open to anywhere in Canada

Raise is currently hiring a Senior Business Analyst on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a market leading financial institution

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Senior Business Analyst int this role will play a key role in the evolution of our clients digital Wealth products. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the business analysis efforts for this project, including gathering and documenting requirements, performing gap analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders and project teams to ensure the successful delivery of the project. The ideal candidate will have a combination of strong wealth and investment acumen, technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and exceptional Business Analysis abilities.

Responsibilities            

  • Lead the Business Analysis activities including working with other BAs and Product partners for a large-scale, multi-application digital wealth customer experience platform.
  • Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
  • Analyze business requirements to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct gap analysis to assess the differences between the current state and the desired state of the system, highlighting areas for enhancement.
  • Work closely with technical teams (Product Managers, Architect, Developers, and Testers) to ensure accurate and efficient implementation of product features.
  • Develop use cases and user stories to capture the functional requirements of the system, ensuring that all user needs are met.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and technical requirements for system implementation.
  • Create data models and process flows to document business processes.
  • Identify and document non-functional requirements, such as performance, security, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive requirements traceability matrix to ensure that all requirements are accounted for and tracked throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and document comprehensive test cases and scripts with QA to ensure the system meets all business, functional, and user requirements.
  • Guide and actively participate in UAT, including creation of test scripts, to validate that the system meets the business requirements and user expectations.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Business Analysis experience, with a proven track record of leading BA activities for large-scale, multi-application digital transformation projects.
  • Wealth Management or Investment acumen – understanding the nuances of advisor-client interactions and the regulatory/technical landscape of financial services.
  • Mastery of SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum), including the ability to write high-quality user stories, functional specifications, and data models.
  • Demonstrated experience in UAT leadership, including the creation of complex test scripts and working alongside QA teams to validate technical implementations.
  • The ability to translate complex technical jargon into "business-speak" and vice versa, while managing stakeholders ranging from C-suite to developers.
  • Education and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or Finance.
  • Professional certification such as the CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or IIBA-AAC is highly preferred
