Solution Designer
- Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid (Every Tuesday and third Friday)
- Pay Rate: $66.39/hr – $78.32/hr
- Contract Length: 12 Months with a possibility of extension

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of end‑to‑end infrastructure designs for TO and AD projects.
- Ensure all designs incorporate engineering, operational, architectural, and security requirements.
- Evaluate platform options, sizing, resiliency, disaster recovery, and data design requirements.
- Collaborate with SMEs across the organization to influence and recommend effective solutions.
- Engage with application developers and business partners to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Support project implementations by helping resolve infrastructure design issues.
- Integrate infrastructure components to support application deployments.
- Partner with enterprise architecture, ISRM, platform managers, and engineering to ensure all standards and compliance requirements are met.
Infrastructure Solution Design
- Meet with requesters from Application Development to understand business needs.
- Translate requests into comprehensive infrastructure designs, including compute, storage, networking, middleware, database, cloud, and security elements
- Document itemized infrastructure components and associated cost estimates (storage, compute, services, etc.)
- Develop designs that incorporate all TO engineering, operational, architectural, and security constraints and requirements
- Ensure alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with engineering, security (ISRM), enterprise architecture, cloud SMEs, and platform managers to incorporate required expertise into the design
- Partner with project managers to support implementation phases
- Assist with integration challenges during infrastructure deployment
Client Engagement
- Provide guidance, technical advisory, and solution recommendations to AD teams
- Communicate complex technical topics clearly and concisely to non‑technical stakeholders
- Represent infrastructure considerations during requirement-gathering and design-review sessions
Must Have Requirement:
- 5+ years in Infrastructure solution design in enterprise environments (middleware, networking solutions)
- 5+ years of Security technology experience—firewalls, Akamai, and related security-edge/perimeter services (this is core to this specific portfolio)
- 5+ years with data center infrastructure (Oracle, MS SQL, Databricks)
- Experience with cloud solutions (Azure preferred)
Broader Domain Knowledge (Additional Skills Context):
- Oracle, SQL, Databricks (helpful for DB/integration understanding)
- Middleware fundamentals
- Networking basics (routing, subnets, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, etc.)
Nice to Have:
- Previous Banking experience (significant plus)
- Financial institution experience
- Exposure to Agile and DevOps delivery environments
- Experience working across multiple infrastructure disciplines
- Any security-focused solutioning within enterprise-scale environments
