Job Title: Enterprise Category/Product Manager

Location: Hybrid or remote flexibility for the right candidate, 1st month full time in West Lake village and then Hybrid, 1 week in a month to west lake village, then depending on client visits

Reports To: Senior Director of Marketing

Salary – $120K-$145K Base

 Position Summary for Product Manager

The Category Manager is responsible for driving category growth and performance across both retail and foodservice channels. This role focuses on strategic category leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and insight-based decision making to optimize product mix, pricing, assortment, and promotional strategies. Reporting to the Sr. Director Marketing, the Category Manager plays a key role in shaping the company’s competitive position, delivering value to customers, and influencing long-term enterprise priorities across evolving product categories.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Category Strategy & Growth

o  Lead the development of enterprise category strategies that align with business objectives and market trends.

o  Identify growth opportunities through innovation, assortment optimization (adds, deletes, re-launches), pricing strategy, and demand planning.

·       Customer & Market Insights

o  Analyze syndicated data, customer POS, shipment data, and industry trends to drive decisions.

o  Monitor competitor activity, shopper behavior, and channel dynamics across retail and foodservice.

·       Cross-Functional Collaboration

o  Partner with Sales, Marketing, RevOps (Finance) and R&D to align category plans with executional capabilities.

o  Serve as the category expert in customer-facing conversations and internal planning sessions.

·       Assortment, Pricing & Promotion

o  Recommend portfolio assortment strategies by channel, customer, and format.

o  Support pricing architecture, trade strategy, and promotional planning to drive category performance and margin.

·       Enterprise Support

o  Provide regular reporting and performance dashboards on category KPIs.

o  Adapt priorities based on changing category focus areas or market shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of category management, trade marketing, or strategy experience in the food industry.
  • Proficiency with syndicated data tools (IRI/Circana, Nielsen, SPINS) and shopper/customer insights platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Deep knowledge of both retail and foodservice channel dynamics.
  • Strategic mindset with operational execution ability.
  • Experience influencing at both corporate and customer-facing levels.

** This role is based in Westlake Village, CA, with flexibility for hybrid or remote work arrangements for the right candidate. Periodic travel (approximately 10–20%) is required to attend key customer meetings, internal planning sessions, and industry events.
