Construction Officer

  • Pay Rate: $75.60/hour, depending on experience
  • Contract Length: 1 Year, with a possibility for extension
  • Location: British Columbia Interior – Various locations

Raise is currently hiring five (5) highly skilled Construction Officers on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada. Candidates must be comfortable moving between different projects and locations based on provincial needs.

3 Electrical Specialists (Red Seal Electricians)

• 1 Civil/Structural Specialist

• 1 Lines Specialist (Power Line Technician preferred)

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description 

The Construction Officers in this role will be part of a mission-critical team ensuring the reliability of British Columbia’s power integrity. We are seeking elite Red Seal Electricians, Civil Specialists, and Power Line Technicians who thrive in the field. If you are a self-starter with a passion for high-voltage infrastructure, safety leadership, and the diverse landscapes of the Southern Interior, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Site Inspection: Oversee construction on substations, transmission lines, and hydroelectric equipment to ensure work meets ’s rigorous standards and safety codes.
  • Safety Leadership: Prioritize safe work execution by performing regular Safe Work Observations (SWO) and maintaining deep knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Contract Administration: Collaborate with contractors and internal services to track materials, progress, and costs, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Technical Advisory: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on-site, resolving complex technical issues and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Field Operations: Coordinate site testing, surveying, and estimating. Work may involve adverse weather, working at heights, or underground environments.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of heavy construction experience or equivalent.
  • Electrical Specialists 
    • Red Seal Electrician or Journeyman Electrician.
    • Substation experience (transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear) or Protection & Control (P&C).
    • Experience with high-voltage systems (60kV to 500kV) is a major plus for .
  • Civil/Structural Specialists
    • Diploma in Civil/Structural Technology or relevant trade apprenticeship.
    • Experience with earthworks, concrete pouring for foundations (specifically for heavy equipment or towers), and structural steel erection.
  • Lines Specialist 
    • Power Line Technician (PLT) certification preferred.
    • Experience with Transmission line construction, stringing wire, tower assembly, and "Work at Heights" expertise.
    • Experience in rugged terrain (mountainous or heavily forested areas)
  • Advanced English skills (written and spoken) for professional reporting and third-party inquiries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License in good standing. Must have a reliable personal vehicle for site travel (mileage reimbursed).
  • Education and Certifications
  • Electrical: Red Seal Electrician certification.
  • Lines: Power Line Technician (PLT) certification preferred.
  • Civil: Diploma in Civil/Structural Technology or relevant trade apprenticeship.
  • Training in contract law

Additional Information 

Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.

Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
