Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

  • The Contracts Advisor will provide commercial and contractual support for geoscience‑related scopes, including seismic acquisition, seismic processing, seismic data licensing, geotechnical data acquisition, and drilling and completions.
  • This role requires someone with strong domain knowledge in exploration and drilling to minimize the need for training and enable immediate contribution to fast‑paced contracting cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Support end‑to‑end contracting activities for geoscience and subsurface operations.
  • Advise stakeholders on contracting strategies related to seismic acquisition, processing, data licensing, and geotechnical programs.
  • Manage smaller to mid‑size contract portfolios, typically ranging from $500K to $50M.
  • Drive short‑cycle contract timelines, usually 1 to 3 months, ensuring timely execution and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with exploration, drilling, and completions teams to align contract terms with technical and operational requirements.
  • Conduct market research, vendor assessments, and negotiation strategies to support sourcing decisions.
  • Ensure contracts adhere to company standards, legal requirements, and risk management guidelines.
  • Provide guidance throughout the contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, administration, and close‑out.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the seismic or exploration/drilling space (preferred over extensive EPC‑only backgrounds).
  • Strong understanding of geoscience contracting, seismic operations, and subsurface project requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage small to medium contracts with short turnaround timelines.
  • Background in contracting, supply chain, commercial management, or similar fields within oil & gas.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal training required in exploration and drilling contracting.
