Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00/hour, depending on experience.
Work Type: Onsite – Battle Mountain, NV 89820
Duration: 6-month contract with possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Information: Standard Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required
Job Overview:
The Utility Operator is responsible for operating grinding mills within optimum operating, safety, and quality parameters while maintaining product API specifications. The incumbent is also responsible for feeding crude ore to the mills, periodic sampling of the ground product, the monitoring of plant equipment, and the transfer of finished product to designated holding tanks.
Responsibilities:
* Perform job duties including operator maintenance, pre-operation inspections, and operation monitoring.
* Maintain communications with the Lab Technician to stay aware of process test results.
* Maintain mill and compressor oil levels and proper operating conditions.
* Maintain adequate feed availability of the proper grade in the feed bins.
* Maintain optimum settings to obtain quality and cost-effective production.
* Be responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements and the Company’s procedures and guidelines in the performance of duties.
* Perform the job safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
* Continually inspect work areas for unsafe or substandard conditions or unsafe work practices.
* Correct or take interim action on any unsafe or substandard conditions or practices observed and report them to the immediate supervisor.
* Participate, as required, in all training classes and exercises.
* Participate, as required, in all HSE performance development activities and systems.
* Report all injuries, near-misses, property damage, and hazardous conditions to the immediate supervisor.
* Support ISO/API standards.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED.
* 1-2 years of relevant experience.
* Must demonstrate the ability to adjust mill equipment to produce material in conformance with the quality program.
* Ability to operate grinding mills within optimum operating, safety, and quality parameters.
* Capability to maintain product API specifications.
* Proficiency in feeding crude ore to mills and performing periodic sampling of ground products.
* Ability to monitor plant equipment and transfer finished products to designated holding tanks.
