Location: Westwood, MA 02090 — Hybrid (2 days onsite approximately 1 mile from the University Ave Amtrack Station)

Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Mon–Fri (30-min lunch)

Start Date: May / June 2026

This is a contract role with real visibility — you'll be working alongside a high-performing marketing team, gaining hands-on experience with enterprise-level processes, and building a skill set that travels with you. 

 

What You'll Do 

As a Business Development Representative, you'll be on the front lines of new business growth — identifying, engaging, and qualifying commercial prospects for the company's energy efficiency incentive programs, and coordinating with third-party partners to bring those programs to life. 

  • Outbound Prospecting: Drive pipeline growth by making outbound calls to commercial business decision-makers — introducing energy efficiency incentive programs, generating interest, and scheduling qualified appointments for the sales team. 
  • Inbound Lead Handling: Respond to inbound inquiries from commercial clients with professionalism and urgency — answering questions, positioning solutions, and converting interest into action. 
  • Incentive Program Engagement: Educate commercial prospects on available energy efficiency incentive programs, clearly articulating the financial and operational benefits to key decision-makers such as facility managers, operations directors, and business owners. 
  • Third-Party Coordination: Connect qualified commercial customers with approved third-party vendors and contractors to schedule and facilitate energy efficiency upgrades, serving as the bridge between the customer and the implementation team. 
  • Quota Attainment: Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual outbound call and lead generation targets. 
  • List Management: Assess and improve commercial lead list quality through research and data hygiene to ensure outreach efforts are targeted and effective. 
  • Solution Fluency: Develop and maintain strong knowledge of the company's energy efficiency programs and incentive offerings so you can speak confidently to prospects' needs (full training provided). 
  • CRM Documentation: Log all activity, track lead status, and capture key prospect insights in HubSpot to support pipeline visibility and team collaboration. 

What We're Looking For 

Required Qualifications 

  • 1–2 years of experience in an outbound phone-based sales or business development role (B2B experience strongly preferred) 
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding call and/or revenue targets 
  • Strong phone presence with excellent active listening skills 
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of daily outbound calls 
  • Proficiency or familiarity with CRM platforms (HubSpot experience is a plus) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills — clear, professional, and persuasive 
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior experience selling a service rather than a physical product 
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot 
  • Exposure to energy, utilities, or sustainability-related industries
