Pay Rate: $26.00/hr on W2, depending on experience.
Work Location: Onsite – Lafayette, LA
Duration: 6-month contract with possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Welder to assist and support manufacturing operations of parts and assemblies. This role operates in a stringent, quality-oriented environment, requiring a commitment to regulatory requirements and safety standards. The successful candidate will perform various welding and fabrication tasks while ensuring all equipment is maintained and safety protocols are followed diligently.
Responsibilities:
* The Production Welder under direct supervision with an assigned mentor or coach, performs standard operations specifically used in the welding process.
* Perform welding, brazing and prep, post-braze clean-up, final clean-up, labeling, cutting, and hardfacing.
* Use specified welding equipment to assist and support manufacturing operations of parts and assemblies as required to meet regulatory requirements.
* Operate in a stringent, quality-oriented environment.
* Ensure that equipment is maintained timely and correctly, including the use of lifting devices, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment.
* Maintain good written and verbal communication skills, as well as competency in the use of computers.
* Read blueprints and drawings and apply knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments.
* Perform manufacturing math calculations and use specialized lifting equipment.
* Execute own work, provide assistance to others as directed, and perform post-work inspections.
* Follow safety procedures diligently at all times, including performing welding assembly processes in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and policies.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Minimum of 6 months of experience.
* 1-2 years of related experience and certification in welding or equivalent is preferred.
* Must have good written and verbal communication skills, as well as be competent in the use of computers.
* Must be able to read blue prints, and drawings as well as be knowledgeable in the use of precision measuring instruments.
