Senior Technical Recruiter – Engineering (Contract)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Recruiter to support engineering hiring within the Canadian staffing market, with a strong preference for candidates who have recruited in the nuclear or heavy engineering sector.
This role is ideal for a recruiter who thrives in MSP/VMS environments, understands contract staffing dynamics, and can quickly deliver results while building strong talent pipelines.
This position will start as a 3–6 month contract, with the potential to convert to a permanent role based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for engineering and technical roles within MSP/VMS programs.
- Source and engage candidates for roles such as engineers, technical specialists, project controls professionals, and skilled technical resources, with preference for nuclear industry experience.
- Build and maintain pipelines of engineering talent across Canada.
- Screen candidates for technical competency, certifications, and project experience.
- Negotiate and structure contract offers including T4 and Incorporated (INC) rate structures.
- Maintain strong communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Ensure submissions meet client quality and turnaround expectations.
- Track recruitment activity and manage priorities across multiple requisitions.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of technical recruiting experience, preferably within engineering or industrial sectors.
- Experience recruiting in the Canadian staffing market.
- Proven success working within MSP/VMS programs.
- Strong understanding of contract staffing structures including T4 and Incorporated (INC) rates.
- Ability to source and recruit for highly technical roles.
- Strong candidate engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced delivery environment.
Preferred Experience
- Recruiting experience in the nuclear, energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with engineering roles such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Nuclear, Project Controls, and Field Engineering.
- Experience supporting large enterprise or government-related clients.
Performance Expectations
This role has clear delivery targets to support ramp-up success:
- Month 1–3: Target 1 placement per month while ramping up on accounts and requirements
- Month 4+: Target 2 placements per month
