Key Responsibilities
· Assess current SQL Server environments and define business and technical objectives for Azure migration.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align migration goals with business strategy.
· Develop a comprehensive migration roadmap including architecture, timelines, resource planning, risk mitigation, and success metrics.
· Conduct gap analysis and recommend Azure-based solutions such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure VMs.
· Work closely with cloud architects, DBAs, application portfolio and data engineers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.
· Facilitate workshops, document business and technical requirements, and present findings to leadership.
· Support change management and training initiatives related to the migration.
Manadatory Skills & Experience
· 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or data-centric environments.
· Proven experience with SQL Server and cloud migration projects, specifically to Microsoft Azure.
· Strong understanding of Azure database services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Data Factory.
· Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills.
· Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
· Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
· Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).
· Experience with data governance, security, and compliance in Azure.
Background in enterprise-level data transformation and modernization initiatives

Assigned Duties
· Conduct Current State Analysis
Evaluate existing SQL Server infrastructure, data models, and dependencies to understand the current environment.
· Gather and Document Requirements
Work with business and technical stakeholders to capture functional and non-functional requirements for the Azure migration.
· Develop Migration Roadmap
Create a detailed plan outlining phases, timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and success metrics.
· Recommend Azure Solutions
Identify appropriate Azure services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Data Factory) based on business needs and technical feasibility.
· Facilitate Stakeholder Engagement
Lead workshops, meetings, and presentations to ensure alignment across business units and technical teams.
· Support Technical Teams
Collaborate with cloud architects, DBAs, and data engineers to ensure the migration plan is technically sound and executable.
· Monitor and Report Progress
Track milestones, identify issues, and provide regular updates to leadership and project sponsors.
· Ensure Compliance and Governance
Incorporate data security, privacy, and compliance requirements into the migration strategy.

- Business Requirements Document (BRD) – Capturing functional and non-functional requirements for Azure migration.
- Migration Roadmap – A phased plan outlining timelines, resource needs, and key milestones.
- Solution Recommendation Report – Evaluation of Azure services with proposed architecture and rationale.
- Gap Analysis Report – Identification of gaps between current capabilities and future-state requirements.
- Risk Register – Documented risks with mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Communication Plan – Strategy for ongoing engagement and reporting.
- Final Presentation Deck – Executive summary of findings, recommendations, and roadmap and migration plan
