Diesel Mechanic

We’re Hiring! Our key client is growing and adding a Diesel Mechanic to their team.

Pay Rate: $26.00 – $27.00/hour on W2, depending on experience
Work Type: Onsite – Odessa, TX 79765
Work Schedule: 5:00 am – 5:00 pm | Monday – Friday, Saturdays as needed | On-call Shift
Duration: 12-month contract with possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors
Additional Information:  Standard Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.

Job Overview:

The Diesel Mechanic works under general direction to perform a wide range of mechanical and electrical tasks. This role is essential for maintaining production equipment, supporting the site’s continuous improvement culture, and ensuring all operations within the chemical plant remain safe and efficient.

Responsibilities:

* Perform a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.
* Complete preventative maintenance on equipment at regular intervals.
* Change lubrication fluids and filters in production equipment.
* Replace lighting and ballasts as needed.
* Use hand and power tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
* Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
* Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
* Work in a variety of environments at a chemical plant, primarily outdoors and in all weather conditions.
* Support and promote the site’s continuous improvement culture.
* Develop good working relationships with other site departments through professional communication.
* Participate in an on-call rotation for the department.
* Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
* Organize daily activities for self and others.
* Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED.
* 1 year of experience in general maintenance work.
* Strong mechanical knowledge, specifically regarding fixed and rotating equipment such as pumps, piping, and storage tanks.
* Basic electrical knowledge.
* Ability to troubleshoot electrical instrumentation and devices.
* Basic analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., Emaint, SAP).
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions
* Ability to organize daily activities of self and others
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
