IT Cyber Security Compliance Consultant (Level 2)

Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Cyber Security Compliance Consultant (Level 2) to support the development, maintenance, and oversight of cyber security compliance standards and processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the client’s digital technology environment complies with cyber security regulations, internal policies, and industry frameworks.
This role will collaborate closely with service providers, cybersecurity teams, IT administrators, and project managers to support compliance audits, risk mitigation, and cyber security governance activities across the organization.
A strong background in cyber security compliance, IT audits, and identity infrastructure (Active Directory and Entra ID) is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the client’s cyber security standards, policies, and compliance frameworks
- Support IT compliance audits by preparing reports and collecting audit evidence
- Conduct cyber security compliance assessments for IT projects
- Identify potential risks through vulnerability assessments and security monitoring
- Review and validate security configurations across systems, applications, and networks
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology.
- At least 3 years of experience in cyber security or cyber security compliance.
- Proven experience with IT compliance audits and cyber security regulatory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of identity infrastructure including Active Directory and Entra ID.
Technical Knowledge
Experience with areas such as:
- Network security and architecture
- Vulnerability scanning and penetration testing
- Log management and continuous monitoring
- Configuration and asset management
- Encryption and strong authentication
Familiarity with security frameworks including:
- ISO 27001 / ISO 27002
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA)
- NERC CIP
- COBIT
Certifications (Preferred)
One or more of the following certifications is considered an asset:
- CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- CRISC – Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control
- CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor
- CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
Nice to Have
- Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Experience with Identity Governance & Administration (IGA)
Additional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, compliance stakeholders, and project managers.
