Pay Rate: $18.00 – $19.00/hour on W2
Work Type: Onsite – Lewisburg, TN 37091
Duration: 9-month contract (with possible extension/conversion – temp to hire)
Job Overview:
* The Wastewater Treatment Technician I is responsible for the collection and processing of materials within a facility.
* In this role, the technician will take direction from the Supervisor or Manager and operate various types of machinery to perform daily operational tasks.
* Equipment used may include forklifts, compactors, balers, skid steers, wheel loaders, and excavators.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate heavy equipment such as fork trucks, balers, compactors, skid steers, wheel loaders, and excavators.
* Process waste materials into designated commodities or according to vendor specifications.
* Perform general housekeeping including sweeping, washing, and maintenance of assigned areas.
* Load and unload van trailers and/or flatbeds.
* Manage material collection points within the facility.
* Interact with plant personnel to determine operational needs in local areas.
Qualifications/Skills:
* High School Diploma or GED preferred.
* Experience operating heavy equipment, including forklifts.
* Valid Driver’s License required.
* Shipping and receiving industry experience preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Good attention to detail and time management.
* Ability to become forklift certified through internal training.
* Ability to work long shifts and maintain punctuality.
Physical Demands:
* Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
* Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
* Must qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
