Senior IAM and PAM Governance Advisor
- Rate: $88.56/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 4 Months

Raise is currently hiring a Senior IAM and PAM Governance Advisor on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a major Canadian airline.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Senior IAM and PAM Governance Advisor in this role will provide the strategic and operational governance necessary to manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) programs. You will ensure that every digital identity—human or machine—is managed with precision, aligning with global security standards, risk management protocols, and rigorous regulatory requirements. As our Clients integration work accelerates, the complexity of their identity landscape is growing. You will be the bridge between security strategy and operational delivery, ensuring that as we merge systems and teams, we maintain a "safety-first" posture in our digital environment. You will define the rules of the game, ensuring that access is granted, monitored, and revoked according to the highest industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Policy Leadership: Define, maintain, and evolve IAM/PAM policies, standards, and control frameworks across the enterprise.
- Strategic Advisory: Advise on the full identity lifecycle, including privileged access models and complex Segregation of Duties (SoD).
- Compliance & Alignment: Ensure all identity solutions align with internal enterprise security standards and external audit requirements.
- Cross-Functional Support: Partner with architecture and delivery teams to provide governance decisions, risk assessments, and technical guidance.
- Liaison Excellence: Act as the primary point of contact between Security, Risk, Compliance, and technical delivery teams.
Qualifications
- 8 + years of experience in high-stakes GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) environments
- IAM & PAM Domain Expertise
- Deep experience in designing and enforcing Access Governance Models.
- Technical proficiency in Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC).
- Strong background in managing Segregation of Duties (SoD).
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks: ISO 27001/27002, NIST, and CIS Controls.
- Experience with regulatory compliance: SOX, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS.
- Ability to translate complex risk findings into actionable governance controls.
- Policy & Control Design
- Proven ability to draft IAM/PAM policies, standards, and procedures.
- Experience designing workflows for access requests, approvals, and periodic reviews.
- Expertise in Privileged Access Operating Models, including control ownership and exception handling.
- Audit & Assurance
- Experience supporting internal and external audits (evidence collection, control walkthroughs, and remediation tracking).
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement based on audit findings and threat landscapes.

- M&A Experience: Previous experience navigating identity consolidation during mergers and acquisitions.
- Hybrid Identity Awareness: A solid understanding of technical and architectural nuances in hybrid (Cloud/On-Prem) identity environments.

- Strong Communication, ability to explain complex security risks to both technical engineers and business stakeholders.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented
- Pragmatic & Outcome-Driven:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and can navigate the "grey areas" of a major integration project.
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Certifications in Governance & Security Certifications {CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC} preferred
- Specialized IAM/PAM Certifications {CIAM, CIGE, CyberArk (Defender/Sentry/Guardian, SC-300, SailPoint Certified Engineer/Professional} preferred
