Raise is currently hiring a Project Engineer, Operational Reliability on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description 

As a member of the Blind River Maintenance and Technical Services team, you are responsible for the quality execution of a focused portfolio of reliability improvement projects. You will ensure company goals and business objectives are achieved by delivering measurable improvements in asset performance, risk reduction, and maintenance strategy.

Projects range across various stages—from initial concept and framing through to final implementation. This role requires a resilient, results-driven project manager who thrives in complex environments, can extract clarity from fragmented information, and confidently manages difficult stakeholder relationships to keep initiatives moving forward.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management & Execution
  • Full Ownership: Manage project delivery across cost, schedule, scope, quality, and HSE requirements with minimal oversight.
  • Operational Reliability: Identify, prioritize, and execute reliability-driven initiatives in close collaboration with operations, maintenance, and engineering.
  • Non-Routine Maintenance (NRM): Undertake NRM projects as required, including equipment selection, work planning, and commissioning.
  • Process Compliance: Ensure all engineering and execution tasks comply with design control and Management of Change (MoC) processes.
  • Technical & Administrative
  • Design & Documentation: Utilize AutoCAD to create and edit critical drawings, including P&IDs and Single Line Electrical diagrams.
  • Maintenance Strategy: Develop and update maintenance plans and drawing revisions to ensure long-term asset integrity.
  • Bureaucracy Navigation: Proactively cut through administrative hurdles to maintain project momentum despite changing priorities.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive industrial engineering experience, with several years specifically focused on projects, reliability, or process management.
  • Experience in a processing or refining environment is required.
  • Proven experience managing Brown Field Projects.
  • Experience with AutoCAD – ability to create / edit drawings (P&IDs, Single Line Electrical)
  • Familiarity with ASME & ASTM codes for piping / pressure vessels is advantageous
  • Prior experience navigating and using SAP for project or maintenance management.
  • Ability to see initiatives through to completion in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong ability to manage difficult relationships and influence stakeholders across departments.
  • Demonstrate a consistent and strong commitment to a robust safety culture.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical).
  • P.Eng. designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required.
  • PMP preferred

Additional Information

  • As this is a safety Sensitive Role Pre-access substance testing will be required
