Senior D&IT ETRM Project Manager

Raise is currently hiring a contract Senior D&IT ETRM Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of large, complex Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solutions, ensuring alignment with organizations’ business objectives and D&IT strategy. You will play a critical role in driving execution across all phases of the project lifecycle—overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality—while ensuring solutions are delivered on time and within scope.
This role serves as the central point of coordination across D&IT, Systems Integrators, and business units, fostering strong collaboration and accountability to ensure seamless delivery. You will translate complex business requirements into actionable technical plans, align cross-functional teams, and remove execution barriers to maintain momentum. Additionally, you will oversee vendor performance, manage competing priorities, and ensure effective resource allocation across multiple initiatives.
Critical to this role is the ability to shape and execute strategic roadmaps, monitor program performance through KPIs, and proactively identify and mitigate risks. You will drive innovation by partnering with stakeholders to deliver scalable, sustainable solutions while leading change management efforts across large digital programs. This position requires a results-driven leader with strong communication skills, capable of navigating complex environments and delivering high-impact outcomes in a fast-paced, office-based setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of ETRM and related solutions by overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Drive collaboration between D&IT, Systems Integrators, and business units to ensure seamless execution and alignment with project objectives.
- Develop and refine the project roadmap, aligning deliverables with broader organization and D&IT strategies while identifying and mitigating risks.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for D&IT activities, coordinating across multiple teams to remove obstacles and maintain project momentum.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical work packages, ensuring solutions are scalable, feasible, and aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Manage vendor performance to ensure adherence to scope, timelines, and cost expectations.
- Monitor program performance by tracking KPIs, providing regular updates to leadership, and ensuring alignment with key success metrics.
- Lead change management efforts and support innovation by fostering collaboration between business and technology teams.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in IT and/or ETRM environments, with a strong background in leading large-scale, complex projects
- Proven experience delivering ETRM solutions, with knowledge of systems such as RightAngle, Allegro, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems, digital technologies, cloud platforms, and data governance
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate across D&IT, business units, and vendors
- Experience translating business needs into technical solutions and aligning delivery with strategic objectives
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; PMP or Agile/ITIL certifications are an asset
- Proven track record managing multi-year, high-budget projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting skills
- Experience in vendor management, risk mitigation, and change management within large digital programs
