Contracts Professional
- Pay Rate: $64.70 hour, depending on experience

Raise is currently hiring a Contracts Professional on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
Reporting to the Manager, Vendor Management Office (VMO), this position will provide Contract Management support to Technology Operations and business groups across and be responsible for administering, managing, negotiating, and renewing technology contracts including hardware, software and service contracts. This role will be specializing as Technology Contracts Support and Management.
Responsibilities
- Specific Contract Management performance and administration job duties include:
- Primarily we want this individual to support our ERP and SAP function, negotiating licensing, true up and service integration and support contracts.
- Advise & negotiate as required for new and renewed contracts; work with Legal on drafting and contract reviews ensuring contracts move quickly and smoothly from creation to negotiation to execution’ scope includes Consulting Service Agreements, Change Orders, Project Orders, Statements of Work, Enterprise Agreements, Enterprise License Agreements, Cloud-based Subscriptions
- Software Contracts and License Renewals – proactive forecasting and reporting of high value software contracts and management of low value transactional-based renewals via Value Added Reseller (VAR).
- Software Asset Optimization regards Software Entitlements – optimize and systemize compliance and management of license entitlements including rationalizing the software procurement channels to deliver best value to Technology.
- Support Technology Software Asset Management (SAM) program ensuring software license and entitlement compliance including audit support when required.
- Contract Assurance and Performance – Ensure contract performance meets business requirements, delivers best value, and ensures compliance with corporate policies including FOIPPA; scope includes reporting to confirm vendor performance aligns with service level agreements (SLA), Deliverables & Obligations, and Compliance requirements in contract.
- Contract Services Performance – reporting on SLA refresh requirements to maintain alignment with evolving business requirements.
- Vendor Governance support including Joint Business Plan reporting, status updates and follow up, Health Card (HC) reporting, status updates and follow up and governance administration, scheduling, meeting materials, and follow up.
- Contract Management administration activities across the portfolio of technology contracts including issues & risks tracking, reporting, and escalations; contract document & records management (storage and archiving inc. software entitlement records), SAP procurement system requirements such as Purchase Order issuance (monitor spend & expiration
Qualifications
- 7 years progressive experience in a dynamic business environment, including in a contract management role.
- Proven experience working on complex technology agreements
- Experience operating within crown corporations or government environments. Familiarization with the Utility industry sector would be beneficial.
- Experience managing and understanding information technology contracts including hardware (Infrastructure including Data Centre and Telecommunications), software (SaaS, Software License), application maintenance service (AMS), Value Added Reseller (VAR) and professional services contracts is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, negotiating, project management, planning and organizational skills.
- Proven abilities (as they relate to contract management) in influencing internal and external parties, managing risk, and optimizing costs through innovation.
- Proficiency with MS Office including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with SAP and ERP programs and contracts (nice to have)
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent
- Certificate in Project Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent, an asset
Additional Information
Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
