Project Manager
- Pay Rate: $62.50 to $100.00/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 1 year 7 months
- Location: Blind River, Ontario
Raise is currently hiring a Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.
Description
The Project Manager will oversee and manage multiple small to medium-scale projects supporting northern site operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving projects through all phases of the lifecycle—from initial scoping and development through execution and delivery—ensuring alignment with project sponsor objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
This role requires strong leadership and coordination skills to effectively manage stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and project resources. The Project Manager will lead key activities including funding request preparation, project planning, schedule development and management, cost control, packaging strategy, reporting, and change management.
The ideal candidate brings experience managing mining or industrial projects, preferably in an owner’s representative capacity, with the ability to oversee engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities. Proficiency in MS Project and other Microsoft tools is required, while experience with SAP and Prism is considered an asset. A motivated, self-driven professional with excellent leadership and communication skills will thrive in this role.
Responsibilities
- Management of multiple small to medium projects to support northern sites. Projects will be in development or delivery stages.
- The PM is responsible for management of stakeholders and team members to achieve the desired project as described by the project sponsor
- PM is responsible for assembly of funding requests, project planning, schedule creation/management, cost management, packaging strategy, reporting, change management, etc.
Qualifications
- Intermediate/Senior: Minimum of 5-9+ years of progressive experience managing complex projects, ideally in a corporate or industrial environment.
- Experience managing mining or other industrial projects through initial scoping to implementation stages.
- Experience in an owner representative role driving engineering, procurement, and construction activities
- Proven Project Management Skills with scheduling, budgeting, risk analysis and the people aspects leadership, motivation, conflict resolution) of project management.
- Expert ability to work in and leverage modern project management tools, specifically MS Project For The Web (or MS Project Online/Server) and Jira.
- Familiarity with leveraging SAP for accessing and reporting on financial data relevant to project budgeting, actuals, and reporting
- Live in or be prepared to relocate to the Blind River area in Ontario or Be able to stay in the Blind River area 80% of the time.
Education and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP)/ (PMI) certification
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or other Agile/Scrum certification (nice to have)
