Electrical Technician III

Job Overview
The Electrical Technician III is responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and commissioning a wide range of electrical and instrumentation equipment, including motors, motor control centers, medium voltage switchgear, communication networks, and related systems. This role supports the safe and reliable operation of the client’s facilities while upholding core values of safety, integrity, respect, inclusion, and high performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all work in compliance with client policies and Operating and Maintenance (O&M) procedures
- Maintain current safety and technical training requirements
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical equipment including substations, medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, communication networks, and instrumentation systems
- Coordinate with supervisors, planners, schedulers, technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure work is planned and executed safely and efficiently
- Utilize work management systems to document maintenance activities, maintain accurate facility records, and update technical drawings as needed
- Ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and secure condition
- Execute one-call requests, crossing reports, and perform line locating as required
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Electrician certification with interprovincial endorsement and a minimum of 4 years of relevant industrial experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with solid analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, subject to verification through a driver’s abstract check
- Ability to pass background screenings, including a 5-year driving record check, criminal background check, and client-sponsored medical and drug testing
- Willingness and ability to work a Monday to Friday schedule with on-call rotation, including emergency response and overtime as needed
- Physically capable of performing job duties including climbing, bending, lifting, standing, and crouching on a repetitive basis
- Ability to travel daily within the assigned area and occasionally as required
