Junior Cost Analyst & Document Controls Coordinator

Overview
- The Junior Cost Analyst & Document Controls Coordinator supports the Interconnects team by assisting with cost tracking, budget administration, document control, and financial reporting activities.
- This role plays a key part in supporting AFEs, invoice processing, project reconciliation, and preparation of project and customer financial reporting, while ensuring documentation is accurate, controlled, and compliant with company standards.

Responsibilities
- Cost Analysis & Financial Support (Interconnects)
- Support the Interconnects team with Approval for Expenditure (AFE) setup, tracking, and updates.
- Assist with invoice review, validation, and reconciliation against commitments.
- Support project cost reconciliation activities, identifying variances and data discrepancies.
- Create final project cost invoices for review.
- Assist with preparation of project-level and customer financial reporting, including monthly and ad-hoc reports.
- Maintain accurate cost tracking logs, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation.
- Provide analytical support to senior cost analysts and project controls staff.
- Document Control & Records Management
- Support document control activities for project, financial, and governance documents, ensuring proper version control, approvals, and storage.
- Maintain document registers, metadata, and review cycles in accordance with document control standards.
- Assist document owners and SMEs with document updates, reviews, and publication.
- Support audit and compliance requests by organizing and retrieving required documentation.
- Reporting & Administrative Support
- Prepare and maintain routine Excel-based reports, trackers, and dashboards.
- Support month-end and reporting cycles by gathering required inputs from project and finance stakeholders.
- Coordinate with project managers, finance, and governance teams to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
- Perform general analytical and administrative support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–3 years of relevant experience (internship, co-op, or entry-level experience acceptable).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and report preparation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage financial data and documentation accurately.
- Ability to follow established processes and standards in a regulated or project-driven environment.
- Positive and keen attitude to learn new skills and support broad team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to project cost control, AFEs, invoice processing, or project reconciliation.
- Experience supporting project or customer financial reporting.
- Familiarity with document management systems or SharePoint-based repositories.
- Experience in engineering, energy, utilities, or infrastructure environment.
