Utility Operator (Night Shift)
- Pay Rate: $23.50/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 5 months
- Location: W. Wareham, MA 02576 (Onsite)
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- The title Utility Operator designates employees who, under general supervision, perform various hands-on tasks required for the up-keep, maintenance, and operation of the plant and its component equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manning picking platform while shredding
- Shredder Maintenance (change or rotate hammers)
- General housekeeping of the facility both internal and exterior
- Conveyor cleaning and minor conveyor maintenance (rollers, seals, scrapers)
- Boiler outage support which may include:
- Mobile equipment operation
- Shift coverage while others support outage
- Basic rigging/tugging
- Annual equipment cleaning or overhaul
- Boiler grate repair
- Operate surge bins when needed
- Perform maintenance on equipment
- Assist other departments in their various tasks
- Painting
- Snow removal
- Warehouse support (inventory)
- Unloading Special Waste
- Confine space attendant
- Assist in fire prevention (fire watch) and extinguishment of incipient fires
- Scheduled and unscheduled Overtime to support the needs of the facility.
- Wear full or half face respirator, don Tyvek suit
- Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
Position Requirements & Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- Possess good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to operate such equipment as dingo loaders, fork trucks, and sweepers.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
- Consistently work in various weather conditions
