Raise is currently hiring an Asset Management Analyst on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

Reporting to the Manager, SNOW, Security & Compliance Delivery and Quality Assurance, The Software Asset Management Analyst is a contract resource responsible for managing and optimising the end-to-end software asset lifecycle using ServiceNow, including SAM Pro and Hardware Asset Management (HAM). This role focuses on licence compliance, cost optimisation, and data-driven insights across complex software publishers.

Responsibilities            

  • Operate and optimise ServiceNow SAM Pro, including Software Asset Workspace, licence reconciliation, and optimisation dashboards.
  • Manage the full software asset lifecycle from request and deployment through renewal, true-up, and retirement.
  • Perform advanced licence reconciliation and compliance analysis for major publishers (e.g. Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle).
  • Identify cost-saving and risk-reduction opportunities using usage data, entitlements, and optimisation rules.
  • Maintain accurate software models, entitlements, and normalization aligned to SAM Pro best practices.
  • Support software audits, renewals, and true-up activities with defensible data and reporting.
  • Integrate SAM Pro with HAM, CMDB, Discovery, and Procurement to ensure end-to-end asset visibility.
  • Collaborate with security, finance, sourcing, and operations teams to support governance and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of dedicated experience in software asset management. (specific tasks like managing entitlements, license reconciliation, and using SAM Pro dashboards).
  • 1–2 years of direct, hands-on experience specifically with the SAM Pro module (rather than just general ServiceNow usage).
  • Proven experience managing at least 2–3 audit or renewal cycles for major publishers like Microsoft or Oracle.
  • Hands-on experience performing compliance analysis and "true-ups" for Tier 1 vendors, specifically Microsoft, Adobe, and Oracle.
  • Lifecycle Management, experience with  managing assets from initial request and deployment through to retirement and disposal.
  • Deep understanding of complex licensing models (e.g., per-core, per-user, SaaS subscriptions, and on-premise PVU models).
  • IT Ecosystem Integration, Knowledge of how SAM Pro integrates with the CMDB, ITOM Discovery, Hardware Asset Management (HAM), and Procurement modules.
  • Proven hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro implementation or operations.
  • Strong understanding of complex software licensing and subscription models.
  • Experience with  ITIL-based IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes Preferred.
  • Education and Certifications
  • A Degree or Diploma in Information Technology (or equivalent).
  • Nice to have certifications: Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or ServiceNow CIS-Software Asset Management
