Role: Maintenance Mechanic / Technician — 3rd Shift (8:00 PM – 4:30 AM)

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of production and facility equipment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal production uptime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine equipment inspections
- Support daily production startups and minimize downtime
- Conduct daily checks on boilers, air compressors, and production equipment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and operations teams
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders as required
- Ensure compliance with safety and food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, Lockout/Tagout)
- Identify and communicate parts, tools, and materials needed for maintenance activities
- Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and special projects
Technical Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair packaging and processing equipment such as conveyors, labelers, palletizers, and sealers
- Troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, and electrical systems (220V/440V)
- Perform welding (MIG/TIG) for repairs and fabrication as needed
- Work with hydraulic pumps, pneumatic valves, regulators, and cylinders
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic for diagnostics and repairs
- Support maintenance of refrigeration, steam, and compressed air systems
- Repair and replace mechanical components including bearings, chains, sprockets, and drives
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor controls
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Hands-on experience with industrial tools and maintenance equipment
- Knowledge of safety standards including HACCP, GMP, and Lockout/Tagout
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in food processing or manufacturing environments
- Experience with packaging equipment and automated systems
- Welding experience (MIG/TIG)
- Familiarity with robotics and automated machinery is a plus
- Prior experience in a leadership or team-support role
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment, including standing, bending, and climbing
- Ability to work at heights and operate equipment such as ladders, lifts, and forklifts
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
