Project Scheduler – Planner (Growth)
- Pay Rate: $73.29/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 12 months with possible extension and conversion
- Location: Houston, TX 77002 (Onsite)
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- Supports project management through analysis and ownership of the project schedule/plan of large natural gas Growth projects from 50M TIC to 1B TIC which includes creating and updating the overall owner's schedule as well as managing a detailed construction schedule.
- Collaborate with project managers on the development and review of project plans, schedules and resources.
- Develops and implements project controls and monitoring procedures to ensure the achievement of project scope and schedule objectives.
- Collects, analyzes and reports on project data and costs from various stakeholders (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction and accounting).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to create and maintain the integrated master schedule from pre-feed to project commercial in-service.
- Update project schedules, provide a schedule summary report, and facilitate schedule review meetings.
- Review, monitor, and assess the accuracy of all schedules, including checking for critical path accuracy, constraints, durations, logic sequencing, scope of work, etc.
- Accountable for ensuring construction progress measurement process is followed by Prime Contractors, which may include building and maintaining manual excel-based progress measurement tools for projects.
- Communicate to the Project Team the impacts to the schedule due to obstacles and/or changes in the work execution plan.
- Identify and track external and internal scheduling issues and document lessons learned.
- Participate in team meetings to capture changes to critical and near-critical path activities.
- Provide support to the Project Manager by assessing and documenting delays and impacts; discuss what-if scenarios, offer alternate work plans, and provide recommendations.
- Support the Project Manager by providing schedule, progress, and earned value reporting requirements used in the construction bid packages, bid evaluations, and administration of construction contracts and perform analysis and reporting of progress and EVM during the execution of the contracts.
- Participate in qualitative and quantitative cost and schedule risk assessments.
- Partner with the Project Manager to adjust work management based on financial implications, construction progress performance, compliance issues, and/or availability of resources.
- Identify opportunities for improvement to procedures and processes.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external teams.
Requirements
- A degree or technical degree in Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, or Construction management is preferred; relevant experience will be considered in place of a degree.
- 10 years of experience in the gas pipeline industry or construction is preferred.
- An understanding of the construction project life cycle and the ability to assist others in understanding these aspects are essential.
- Must be capable of building and updating schedules as well as performing deep analysis of contractor submittals.
Functional Skills
- Advanced Primavera P6 capabilities are required.
- Primavera P6 is our corporate scheduling and planning tool for all projects.
- Basic proficiency in MS Project.
