Primavera P6 Scheduler/Planner
- Pay rate: $70/hr-$82/hr

Responsibilities:
This role is well suited to a planner/scheduler who is confident building and maintaining logic-driven schedules in Primavera P6 and is comfortable working closely with project stakeholders to manage key projects.
The main duties of the P6 Project Scheduler/Planner include:
• Developing and maintaining detailed integrated project schedules in Primavera P6.
• Translating engineering scope into structured WBS, activities, logic and milestones.
• Facilitating scheduling/planning workshops with engineering, project, and functional stakeholders.
• Establishing and maintaining schedule baselines and supporting formal change control.
• Performing schedule quality checks (logic integrity, float analysis, constraints, critical path).
• Tracking progress, forecast completion and analyzing schedule variance and impacts.
• Identifying schedule risks related to design and implementation activities.
• Conforming to PMO-standard reporting: milestone status, critical path, lookahead plans and management dashboards.
• Supporting the established business delivery rhythm through timely updates and accurate forecasting.
• Aligning schedule with cost/resource inputs (where applicable) and supporting integrated performance reporting.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of PMO planning standards, templates and governance.
Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language
Include minimum experience qualifications, required proficiencies with specialized knowledge, computer proficiencies, etc.
• Undergraduate qualifications or equivalent training in a related field, such as Business, Engineering or Project Management.
• Minimum 4 + Years of experience in scheduling/planning roles, preferably in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of scheduling/planning best practices.
• Competent user of Primavera P6.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to promote cooperation at all levels.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Earned Value principles, systems and techniques.
• Experience with Quantitative Risk Analysis (Schedule/Cost) is considered beneficial.
• Prior experience in Engineering or Defense industry is desirable.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and general data analysis competencies; familiarity with
• Power Query or BI tools is beneficial.
• Able to obtain a Canadian security clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program and ITAR.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred attributes for the position, which are not required in the minimum qualifications (e.g., master’s degree):
• Knowledge and understanding of the Defence Sector.
• Experience across the In-Service Support phases of a project lifecycle.
• Experience working in a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-site organization.
• PMI-SP or similar credentials
Technical Requirements:
• Primavera P6: Must be a competent/expert user.
• Independence: Ability to hit the ground running with minimal guidance.
• Experience: Proven track record in complex engineering or maritime scheduling.
Soft Skills & Personality (Critical):
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
• Confidence & Diplomacy: We need someone confident enough to provide insights on best practices and challenge the team or ask difficult questions, but with the professional tact to do so "the right way."
