Raise is currently hiring a Consultant for BSS Corporate team on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Consultant for BSS Corporate team (IT Business Analyst) in this role will be responsible for gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements for small-scale IT projects. This role serves as a vital bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that technology solutions align with the organizational objectives.
On medium to large-scale initiatives, the Consultant will partner with senior resources to provide operational support, process mapping, and high-quality documentation. This is a role for a self-starter who excels in a professional, complex enterprise environment and is capable of managing day-to-day workplace duties with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Requirements Management: Lead the elicitation and documentation of Business Requirements, Functional/Non-Functional Requirements, and Data Requirements.
- Documentation Excellence: Produce high-quality governance documents, Process Impact Assessments, and Process Maps. Ensure all deliverables undergo rigorous stakeholder review and obtain necessary sign-offs.
- Project Coordination: Assist Project Managers with planning activities for subsequent project phases. Document meeting outcomes via minutes and track task completion to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Systems & Data Liaison: Act as a point of contact for internal teams and external vendors regarding data migration and system interface activities to ensure dependencies are clearly communicated.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Support the testing lifecycle by creating Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Scripts, and final Test Reports to validate that business requirements are met.
- Change Management Support: Collaborate with Change Management and Training Leads on stakeholder analysis, communications, and training roll-out activities to ensure a smooth transition to sustainment.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Consultant within small to medium technology-related projects.
- Proven experience working within a complex enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience in Project Coordination and supporting end-to-end project lifecycles.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio (specifically for process mapping and design).
- Familiarity with structured project delivery frameworks (e.g., ITDSP or similar Governance models).
- Experience creating Requirements Traceability Matrixes and User Interface Specifications.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills tailored for a professional corporate environment.
- Strong coordination and relationship-building skills to liaise between technical vendors and business stakeholders.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of daily workplace duties.
- Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves)
- Previous experience working within the Public Sector or Utilities industry.
- Prior experience with business and technology landscape or familiarity with Project Delivery Methodology (ITDSP).
- Understanding of data migration and system interface complexities in a utility setting.
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related equivalent field.
- Certifications (Assets) IIBA, ECBA, CBAP, PMP
Additional Information
Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
