Commissioning and Start-Up, Electrical and Instrumentation Superintendent
- Contract Length: 6 Months
- Location: Key Lake, Saskatchewan
- Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
- Rotation (2 weeks in-2weeks out, 11 hours a day)
- Company Charter Flights provided – Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
- Contractors are expected to travel to Saskatoon for chartered flights to camp sites.

Description
The CSU E&I Superintendent is a critical "Working Supervisor" role responsible for the safe and efficient
execution of electrical and instrumentation discipline work. This position oversees trade crews while
remaining hands-on in the field to perform, troubleshoot, and inspect installations during the high-stakes
commissioning and start-up phases for our clients projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring all E&I discipline work taken by him/her or his/her crew are completed in a safe manner abiding by all safety program requirements.
- This position is a working supervisor role who physically performs trade work while carrying the responsibility for direct supervision of trade crews performing work under him/her whenever required.
- Modifying, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, and inspecting electrical and instrument installations.
- verifying installation, wiring, and terminations of MCC’s, control panels, and junction boxes.
- Inspection, modification, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation installations.
- Identifying and documenting deficiencies. Provide input and follow up on deficiencies to make sure they are addressed and closed satisfactorily.
- Completing defined commissioning documentation (e.g. check sheets, ITPs and test reports)
- Recording final and accurate as-built/as-left conditions on redline drawings, datasheets, and project documentation.
- Participating in commissioning team meetings including, without limitation, daily toolbox, safety, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Support and provide input to development of detailed plans for execution of work.
- Monitoring the schedule and productivity of work and work collaboratively to resolve issues and barriers.
Qualifications
- 4 to 9 yrs of industrial experience, specifically within brownfield commissioning environments where integrating new systems into existing operations is required.
- Previous experience working within a nuclear facility or a similarly high-regulation industrial environment is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with MCCs, control systems, and instrumentation calibration, paired with proficient computer skills for reporting.
- Proven track record of managing trade crews in high-pressure environments, while still physically performing trade work.
- Education and Certifications
- Journeyperson status as an instrumentation mechanic or electrician with strong preference given to dual ticketed individuals.
- Supervisor training/certification is required.
- Safety certificate is highly preferred.
- Proficient computer skills required
