The Raise has partnered with our client, a leading organization within the nuclear energy sector, recognized for delivering complex engineering, manufacturing, and project execution solutions supporting nuclear power generation initiatives. They are seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers with strong nuclear industry expertise to join their team supporting major nuclear projects.

Summary

  • Under broad supervision, performing non-routine and varied engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks, and resolution of field problems.
  • The successful candidate will support complex nuclear engineering projects by applying sound engineering principles, technical expertise, and advanced problem-solving capabilities. This role requires strong knowledge of engineering codes and standards, design engineering processes, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • The Mechanical Engineer will actively contribute to resolving technical challenges identified by project management, business line management, or customer requests with the objective of increasing business opportunities and supporting the lifecycle and replacement of current technologies.

Major Duties

  • Perform non-routine and varied engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks, and resolution of field problems.
  • Receive minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with government, organization, and customer engineering standards.
  • Independently evaluate, selects, and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Continue to develop knowledge of organization processes and customers.
  • Work on special projects, as directed.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks, as required.
  • Utilize existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle and replacement of current technologies.
  • Actively participate in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management, or customer requests with the objective to increase business opportunities for the client.
  • Support engineering activities in accordance with applicable nuclear quality and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset in all activities and project execution work.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related engineering experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.).
  • Nuclear industry experience preferred.
  • Bruce Power security clearance preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, and criteria.
  • Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Displays informal leadership characteristics.
  • Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
  • Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.
  • Design Engineering expertise familiar with ECC process.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards including:
    • ASME B31.1
    • ASME B31.3
    • CSA B51 Part 1
    • CSA N285
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams in highly regulated nuclear environments.
