Job Overview

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Project Controls, the Project Controls Coordinator IV – Field Cost Analyst provides project controls analysis and support to construction project teams, with a primary focus on field-level cost management and construction contract controls. This role is responsible for budget and forecast management, earned value measurement, cost reporting, schedule review, contract administration support, and financial reconciliation activities throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, contractors, field stakeholders, and central project controls personnel to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, reporting, and performance measurement while supporting successful project execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, maintain, and monitor project contract forecasts and control budgets at the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) level, with primary responsibility for field-level cost controls.
  • Collect and validate information required for project cost estimates, control budgets, cost forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and control incurred project costs and provide accurate, timely cost information to project stakeholders.
  • Review contract controls documentation and ensure required information is received and validated in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate weekly progress meetings with contractor representatives and Client construction management personnel.
  • Prepare and deliver required project cost reports, forecasts, and financial data within established project timelines.
  • Coordinate with field stakeholders to communicate project progress, changes, risks, issues, and key project updates.
  • Liaise with the central project controls team to ensure alignment of project cost and reporting activities.
  • Perform earned value measurements for assigned contracts in accordance with PMO standards and project requirements.
  • Complete LEMS entries, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
  • Perform vendor invoice reviews and reconciliations against LEMS records as assigned.
  • Participate in field update meetings related to project costs, schedules, progress, and forecasting.
  • Review contractor schedules and P6 master schedules to validate progress and ensure planned and completed work is accurately reflected.
  • Apply established project controls procedures, guidelines, and standards while escalating issues and seeking guidance when required.
  • Support continuous improvement of project controls processes and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

  • University degree, technical diploma, or equivalent combination of construction, operations, project controls, or related industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project controls, cost management, construction cost analysis, or related project delivery environments.
  • Strong proficiency with EcoSys Project Controls Management System (PCMS), Oracle Cloud, and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in project budgeting, forecasting, earned value management, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction estimates, contracts, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Experience working in field construction environments supporting large-scale capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of project controls principles, cost management methodologies, and contract administration processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with project teams, contractors, and leadership.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and data reconciliation capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, identify issues proactively, and provide effective solutions.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Willingness and ability to work in field environments, including extended schedules during active construction phases.
  • Ability to walk construction sites and safely work in environments involving noise, moving equipment, and uneven terrain while utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
