Raise is currently hiring a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable

Description

The Maintenance Engineer in this role will provide operational, administrative, and coordination support for the execution and management of our in-year maintenance program. Operating within a complex utility environment, you will work closely with diverse cross-functional stakeholders to support maintenance execution, SAP governance, reporting, and program administration. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that maintenance work orders, change requests, and associated business processes progress in strict alignment with operational priorities, fiscal timelines, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • 1. SAP Governance & Work Order Administration
  • Process & Coordinate SAP Activities: Administer and coordinate SAP maintenance-related activities, specifically managing SA01 and SA02 work order administration and system change requests.
  • Track Work Progression: Monitor maintenance order life cycles, phase controls, and schedule adherence to ensure work is completed on time.
  • System Optimization: Assist in maintenance planning initiatives, process improvement workflows, and continuous SAP stabilization efforts.
  • 2. Program Coordination & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Coordinate daily with a variety of internal stakeholders, including Station Field Operations (SFO), Asset Information Services (AIS), Maintenance Engineering, Scheduling, and Program and Contract Management (PCM) groups.
  • RFS Management: Assist with Request for Support (RFS) coordination, triage, and ongoing tracking activities.
  • Communication & Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate records, engineering documentation, and clear communication channels across all maintenance execution teams.
  • 3. Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
  • Execute In-Year Plans: Support the execution, performance monitoring, and compliance tracking of the annual and in-year maintenance plans.
  • Regulatory & Fiscal Tracking: Monitor and track Final Due Dates (FDD), standing orders, and fiscal-year maintenance program milestones to support utility compliance standards.
  • Data Validation: Assist with maintenance reporting, validating program data, and compiling clear, executive-ready status updates.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively assist in identifying operational issues, system process gaps, and areas for workflow optimization.    

Qualifications

  • 4 years of professional engineering experience working directly with the operation, maintenance, or commissioning of physical assets and experience should ideally be within a power utility, heavy industrial, oil and gas, or complex infrastructure environment
  • Hands-on experience working within SAP (specifically PM/MM modules) and familiarity with maintenance planning procedures.
  • Prior experience in utility operations, asset management, power systems, or complex infrastructure-related programs.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems, engineering drawing standards, and standard industry design/analysis software
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Education and Certifications
  • University graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Science or Engineering.
  • P.Eng and will be required to Provide Proof of Permit to Practice, registered with EGBC when hired

Additional Information

  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
