Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data migration activities from legacy systems to a new COTS platform.
  • Perform data profiling, data quality assessments, and legacy data analysis.
  • Develop source-to-target data mapping documentation.
  • Design, develop, and execute ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, inconsistencies, and data quality issues.
  • Validate migrated data for completeness, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Create and maintain Data Profiling Reports and Legacy Landscape Reports.
  • Develop conceptual data models and data flow diagrams.
  • Create Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) using UML/BPMN.
  • Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts to gather and document business and reporting requirements.
  • Develop data transformation specifications and migration strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance policies and standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis for data-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop scripts and workflows to automate data collection, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Support vendor fit-gap analysis and COTS implementation activities.
  • Participate in Data Quality Assurance (DQA), testing, and validation activities.
  • Contribute to data architecture discussions and enterprise data management initiatives.
  • Prepare project documentation and technical deliverables.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform additional project duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience working on large-scale enterprise IT projects.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in legacy system data migration projects.
  • Extensive experience with:
    • Data Profiling
    • Data Mapping
    • Data Transformation
    • Data Validation
    • Data Migration
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on SQL experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of ETL design, development, and execution experience.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data Governance
    • Data Quality
    • Data Integrity
  • Experience working on enterprise modernization projects.
  • Experience working within Government or Public Sector environments is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
