SAP ABAP Developer
- Pay Rate: $91.04/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 1 Year

Raise is currently hiring a SAP ABAP Developer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The SAP Developer in this role will design and implement SAP technical solutions for operations and projects in close collaboration with SAP Functional Consultants, while adhering to industry best practices and standards and guidelines. In this role, you will play a key technical lead role across operations, sustainment, and major project initiatives—delivering high-quality, sustainable solution architectures across the organizations SAP landscape.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Strategy: Provide technical leadership across operations, sustainment, and full-cycle SAP implementations from project preparation through to post-go-live. Manage project deliverables, technical risk, and issues to support business operations in achieving organizational objectives.
- Solution Design & Development: Design, develop, test, and document high-quality, sustainable SAP solutions—specifically leveraging SAP IS-U, S/4HANA, and C4C—fully utilizing native SAP functionality and integrated enterprise systems.
- Collaboration & Requirements Gathering: Partner with operational and project teams, SAP Functional Consultants, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- System Integration & Architecture: Lead business requirements analysis, work planning, fit-gap analysis, and detailed system configuration/development. Support and guide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure projects are delivered safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.
- Continuous Improvement: Research emerging SAP technologies and software developments to present feasible technical options and recommendations that continuously improve system efficiency, reliability, and innovation.
- Mentorship & Capability Building: Provide ongoing technical guidance, advice, and assistance to internal teams, partner resources, and junior developers to continuously build SAP technical capability within .
Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in SAP implementation, enhancement, and production support, including integrating SAP with complex enterprise applications.
- Proven development experience in SAP IS-U (Industry Solution for Utilities).
- Direct development and integration experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP C4C (Cloud for Customer).
- Experience in at least three (3) full-lifecycle SAP implementations.
- 3+ years of technical leadership, solution architecture, or project leadership experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored for a professional, cross-functional corporate environment.
- Advanced expertise in business process design, implementation/support methodologies for IT services, and technical specification writing. (nice to have)
- Knowledge of cloud solution integrations complemental to the broader SAP ecosystem. (nice to have)
- Technical & Professional Competencies
- Deep proficiency in ABAP, ABAP Objects, OData Services, BAPIs, BADIs, Enhancement Framework, and User Exits.
- Strong grasp of the Utility industry model, billing/invoicing, device management, and customer service integrations within SAP IS-U.
- Hands-on experience with CDS Views, AMDP, and C4C integration scenarios (CPI/PI/PO).
- Ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams, resolve technical impasses, and ensure compliance with governance and safety guidelines.
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Formal certification in SAP modules or technical frameworks. (nice to have)
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM). (Nice tohave)
Additional Information
- Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
- Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
