In addition, the role leads the Access Solutions Group, a revenue‑generating organization that designs and delivers complex, enterprise‑wide automation systems for strategic customers. The Access Solutions Group is responsible for architecting, delivering, and scaling the company’s large-scale integrated custom automation solutions. This team drives revenue growth by designing high-complexity, enterprise-grade systems that integrate the company’s hardware, scheduling/orchestration software, data interfaces, and third-party technologies into cohesive automated workflows.
This leader owns the long-range portfolio strategy, architectural direction, investment priorities, and commercial outcomes across the company’s automation and digital ecosystem. The Senior Director will partner closely with R&D, Quality/Regulatory, Operations, Commercial, Service, and Strategic Partners to bring differentiated, compliant, and scalable solutions to market that accelerate throughput, ensure data integrity, and reduce total cost of ownership across modern digital and automated labs. Our preferred work arrangement is onsite.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Own the 3–5 year portfolio strategy and integrated roadmap across BioMek, Echo, automation software, connectivity, and enterprise automation solutions, with a clear path toward AI‑enabled and data‑driven labs. - Drive deep Voice of Customer and market insights to prioritize growth opportunities where automation, AI, and analytics deliver differentiated customer value (e.g., CGT, bioprocessing, NGS, QC/QA).
- In close collaboration with R&D, define portfolio architecture and modular platform standards to enable interoperable, AI-ready automation, including data models, APIs, and integration frameworks. Establish integration, connectivity, and data standards (APIs, device drivers, telemetry, cybersecurity) that support advanced analytics, AI agents, and scalable reuse.
- Translate strategy into actionable product requirements, pricing, packaging, and launch plans across hardware, software, and AI‑adjacent capabilities.
- Deliver to company’s financial commitments, including revenue growth, gross margin etc.; manage portfolio P&L and investment tradeoffs.
- Lead the Access Solutions Group, a revenue‑generating organization responsible for delivering large‑scale, integrated automation systems that combine company’s platforms, orchestration software, data integration, and third‑party technologies. Oversee complex enterprise automation engagements, including solution feasibility, cost modeling, risk assessment, and customer value justification for multimillion‑dollar deployments.
- Build and lead a high‑performing product management and solutions organization that balances innovation, compliance, and execution while preparing the portfolio for the next generation of autonomous labs.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- 12–15+ years in product management or adjacent roles within life sciences, lab automation, scientific software, or industrial automation; 7+ years leading PM teams.
- Track record owning integrated hardware + software portfolios and delivering platform and ecosystem strategies.
- Demonstrated success in regulated environments and enterprise deployments (GxP/Part 11, data integrity, cybersecurity).
- Strong commercial acumen: pricing, portfolio P&L management, and enterprise solution selling.
- Technical fluency in lab automation, robotics, scheduling/orchestration, data platforms, cloud/SaaS, and API-first architectures.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
