Harvest – Scale Clerk
- Pay Rate: $20.00/hour (on W2)
- Contract Length: 3 months
- Work Schedule: Regular Shift | 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM
Raise is currently hiring a Harvest – Scale Clerk in Grand Ledge, MI 48837 on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Job Overview
The Scale Clerk is a clerical position responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative activities of the facility. Key duties include weighing trucks, grading grain, operating a PLC program, performing data entry, answering phones, and filing and maintaining documents.
The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service while maintaining a positive, professional, and respectful attitude when interacting with customers, drivers, coworkers, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks accurately.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry.
- Grade grain according to established procedures.
- Operate the PLC program as required.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally.
- File, organize, and retain required documents and records.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Keep the office and work area clean, neat, and organized.
- Follow all ADM safety policies, procedures, and work practices.
- Provide support for other clerical and operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Previous experience with data entry using Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
- Previous experience operating office equipment, such as copiers and fax machines, is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated initiative, dependability, and flexibility.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required during harvest periods.
Physical Requirements
- The position may require:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- Prolonged use of a telephone and computer.
- Bending and kneeling.
- Lifting and moving storage boxes and office materials.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with an active agricultural/grain facility.
