Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
The Buyer is responsible and accountable for executing end-to-end procurement and materials flow activities that ensure timely availability of materials and services at optimal cost, quality, and compliance. This role owns transactional purchasing, supplier execution, logistics coordination, system accuracy, and resolution of delivery, quality, and payment issues to support manufacturing, R&D, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Procurement Execution
- Create and manage POs in ERP/Fishbowl and lead RFQs.
- Negotiate commercial terms, track promise dates, and manage change orders.
- Supplier & Issue Management
- Monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality) and resolve delivery risks.
- Support onboarding, scorecards, and expediting open orders.
- Materials & Demand Fulfillment
- Validate material requirements and prevent duplicate purchasing.
- Manage raw material/consumables availability and weekly open order tracking.
- Manufacturing & Production Support
- Maintain manufacturing orders, BOMs, and RTO trackers.
- Manage outside processing, service POs, and external supplier progress.
- Systems & Master Data
- Maintain item masters, part numbers, and BOMs in ERP.
- Ensure data governance, cost accuracy, and audit-ready traceability.
- Engineering Change & Configuration Management
- Implement ECRs and ECNs.
- Assess the impact of engineering changes on inventory and open POs.
- Quality, Compliance & Disposition
- Resolve shortages and non-conforming materials (NCRs).
- Coordinate first article validations, quality checks, and scrap recovery.
- Financial & Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Perform 3-way invoice matching (PO/GR/Invoice).
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies.
- Logistics & Specialized Procurement
- Manage specialized services (threading, subcontracting, outside processing).
- Coordinate material logistics between suppliers and internal operations.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Track procurement KPIs (OTD, lead time, cost).
- Drive process improvements to streamline workflows and reduce lead times.
