In the role of Mechanical Engineering Summer Student, you will be part of the Liquids Pipelines Operations Engineering team, working closely with team members and regional personnel to gain valuable technical and engineering experience. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to gain hands-on experience supporting engineering activities, evaluating new technologies, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within Liquids Pipelines Operations.
Placement Details:
This is an 4-month placement starting in May 2027, located in Duluth, MN.
What will you do:
- Facilitate and support discussions around engineering issues within Liquids Pipelines Operations Engineering.
- Support senior members of the department by performing engineering calculations and preparing spreadsheets and reports.
- Collaborate with regional personnel to support Operations and engineering activities.
- Identify opportunities for innovative technologies and contribute to assessments of new technologies.
- Develop workflows for engineering processes to identify opportunities for improved system efficiency.
Who you are:
- You are currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program studying a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and will be returning to full-time school immediately following the work term.
- Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, High Performance).
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role, located in Duluth, MN.
