  • Pay Rate: $66.42/hour, depending on experience
  • Contract Length: 6 Months

Raise is currently hiring a Scrum Master on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a major Canadian airline.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Scrum Master in this role will be a mentor and expert of Software Development Agile processes that focus on delivering value through continuous improvement. A Scrum master helps coordinate the teams deliverables (working with Product Management, and external stakeholders), facilitates the sprints, retrospectives, and daily standups. The Scrum Master will establish standards on several software development teams at once (up to 3) – and will be accountable to monitor and measure each of the team's performance, and resolve any issues that

impede their work. This role is responsible in leading the delivery of business value every day – and measuring the efficiency and consistency of that output.

This role has been identified to provide Scrum Master support for the Integration Platforms and Integration Services teams during an extended leave of absence. The resource will facilitate agile ceremonies, support process improvements, help remove delivery impediments, manage dependencies and risks, and enable teams to deliver against their commitments effectively. A contractor is being sourced to provide immediate coverage and maintain delivery momentum, team productivity, and business continuity without adding permanent headcount while the incumbent remains on leave.

Responsibilities          

  • Guide, coach and mentor the team on Agile Scrum practices and processes Organize and lead Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Standups, Retrospectives)
  • Oversee and manage scope, timeline, quality, and deliverables that support business goals
  • Establish and implement quantitative and qualitative KPIs – to drive measurable performance, quality and consistency. Prepare and present regular reports on the teams output, progress, success and learnings.
  • Collaborate with team to support backlog (grooming), and new requests.
  • Identify and address any obstacles that occur – and a drive continuous improvement mindset into the delivery teams. Collaborate with other Scrum Masters on building techniques, ideas, methods and tools.
  • Proficiency with Agile delivery platforms such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and servant leadership skills
  • Expert knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (Definition of Done, User Stories, Automated Testing, Backlog Refinement)
  • 10+ years of experience working within Agile Software Development teams, with extensive experience as a Scrum Master or process leader
  • Deep expertise in Scrum techniques and artifacts (e.g., Definition of Done, User Stories, Automated Testing)
  •  A team-oriented, collaborative and empathetic approach to meeting goals and objectives
  • Nice to Haves
  • Exposure to Agile delivery within data-focused teams (Data Engineering, Analytics, or Data Products) Understanding of data workflows, dependencies, and challenges unique to large-scale data platforms
  • Soft Skills
  • High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to adapt to change in a positive way and deliver successful results
  • Professional presence and a demonstrated ability to work with all levels within an organization Expert problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Education
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business, or similar field
  • Certified Scrum Master ( nice to have)
