Job Overview:
- Are you passionate about troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing electrical and control systems? As a Maintenance Technician II, you will play a critical role in supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipeline and compressor station facilities. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in electrical and instrumentation systems who are eager to expand their technical expertise in a dynamic industrial environment.
- As you progress in the role, you will have the opportunity to develop operational competencies and work toward becoming a Level I Station Operator, gaining valuable experience across both technical and operational functions within compressor station operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment, including switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, and fans.
- Maintain DC electrical systems and associated equipment such as batteries, chargers, rectifiers, and inverters.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair station and unit-level electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and control networks.
- Maintain and troubleshoot field devices and instrumentation, including motor controls, pressure transmitters, pressure switches, temperature sensors, limit switches, solenoids, and actuators.
- Perform maintenance on critical safety systems, including ESD panels, gas detection systems, flame detection systems, and manual activation devices.
- Assist with work planning activities and provide budget-related information in support of the annual planning process.
- Ensure the safe operation, compliance, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of station equipment and systems, including:
- Air and air dryer systems
- Fuel systems
- Cooling systems
- Gas compression equipment
- Prime movers
- Other equipment essential to maintaining gas delivery through compressor station facilities
- Support operational reliability initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of electrical and/or instrumentation experience in an industrial environment, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to independently perform Technician Level I responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain driving privileges.
- Preferred
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Equivalent combination of technical education, training, and relevant work experience.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions.
- Must reside within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, weekends, shift schedules, on-call rotations, and standby assignments as required.
- Ability to travel overnight when business needs require.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional growth within electrical controls and maintenance disciplines.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires the ability to regularly perform activities that may include:
- Balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling
- Climbing and working at varying heights
- Carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 45 pounds
- Reaching above shoulder level
- Repetitive motion activities
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking
- Manual dexterity and grasping
- Visual acuity sufficient to read screens, identify color coding, and interpret fine print
- Hearing ability necessary to identify alarms, equipment sounds, and communicate effectively
